Ely Hotel

Dated property, but a few meters from the sea...welcoming and affable staff and excellent breakfast...I wish the two young women who manage it to continue this business, trying to improve it!

Very good hotel for only having two stars. I had booked a single room that turned out to have no AC and only had one fan. However, I was upgraded to a cozy, but simple double room at the top of the house with AC, at no extra cost. A tip is to check before booking that the room has AC, it is needed if you visit Viareggio during the summer. The hotel receptionist who spoke no English, but you get far with Google translator. I only stayed one night, after several nights in a 4-star hotel nearby. I had to go by train early the morning after so I never tried breakfast. Asked the hotel receptionist, the day before, to help me book a taxi. When she (and I) called the next morning for twenty minutes, without arriving, she drove me to the station. Service and it gives high rating to an otherwise simple place.

wonderful location to go to the sea and downtown and equally attentive and wonderful staff and service. we were pleasantly surprised by everything and will definitely return!!!! Thanks again to Simona who took over this lovely place and gave us the chance 'to feel at home
