Fantastic location.
The hotel is enormous and historic, set atop a medieval hill.
Valentina is a wonderful owner with amazing, hard-working staff such as Glenn and Mauritzio.
The cook/chef offered up fantastic food every evening - 4 courses with wine!!
Breakfast was plentiful with fruit, nuts, seeds, bread, juices, beverages, yoghurts, cakes, etc, and warm sausages, bacon, and scrambled eggs.
We ate breakfast & a few lunches on the lower floor, which was like an underground cave - a lot cooler than when we had our evening meals outside on the first floor.
The bedrooms are located on floors 1, 2 & the attic (floor 3).
The small lift only goes up to floor 2, and the remaining steps to floor 3 are rustic and uneven, so not suitable for people with mobility issues.
I had a large corner room on the 2nd floor with 2 opening windows and a delightful view.
I found a tiny fridge in a small cupboard with 1 fizzy and 1 still bottle of water in it. Much appreciated but never replenished - only by myself.
Unfortunately, the bathroom window would not open.
In July, the temperature fluctuated between 35 and 37 degrees each day!
The air conditioning was pretty useless and old. It was located under a window, far away from the bed, locked on 20 degrees. Unfortunately, they were also turned off by the cleaners, so when we returned from day trips we were engulfed in a heatwave and lots of mozzies from the open windows!
However, the room was large with a wardrobe and a safe, the bed was comfy, but personally, I did not have a good night's sleep all week, due to the suffocating heat.
There is another building across the tiny street with a plunge pool.
No sunbeds, just a few tables and chairs.
Lovely and refreshing on a hot day, but very small and not particularly clean.
A nice space to relax and read a book after a hot day sightseeing.
There is no bar or music.
There is a lovely square, the Piazza Mazzini, a 3-minute, steep walk from the hotel with a few shops and restaurants which we enjoyed soending time in after dinner.
The entire area is criss-crossed with narrow paths and alleyways, tunnels and turns - not suitable for anyone with a mobility issue.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this lovely, unique hotel.

I stayed at this hotel with a group of walking friends. We all thought our rooms were excellent and each one was different. My room was large with 3 windows and a view from the loo to die for! My bathroom was very large with a good shower.
The food was excellent and it was great hearing Maurizio describing our supper and the wines they were serving.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with lots of choices.
My only gripe would be no tea making facilities in the room but I knew this and brought a travel kettle.
I would highly recommend this hotel and Trevi is a picturesque little village.
