Il Castello

I went to the restaurant at the castle with a group, set menu to review regarding the quality of food.

I stayed as part of a pilgrimage group of 49. Rooms higher up at front of hotel should get good views but those on 1st floor are onto street busy with people and no privacy if open shutters. The food served to our group was poor, and the vegetarian options were mostly terrible. This may be because of the group budget they had to work to. The main menu posted in reception looked more promising but there was another very large group there at the same time as us so tough for any other guests in dining room. Breakfast was unexceptional and unexciting. The room I had on first floor was small and very tired. Very few charging points for gadgets etc. And lighting was poor. Shower cabinet was small. I certainly would not choose to stay there. Very little English spoken if that is important to visitors. Best point was its very good and convenient location to all that fabulous assisi has to offer.
