Hotel Virgilio

Small excellent hotel in a magnificent location: opening the window you can admire the square and the view of the wonderful Duomo of Orvieto. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rich sweet and savoury breakfast that also includes gluten-free packages. Modest prices. Highly recommended!!!!

We arrived at the Hotel Virgilio in pitiful conditions like two illegal immigrants without luggage, indeed three if we add our dog in tow. We were on our way home from Rome when our car abandoned us on the emergency lane on the highway, near Orvieto. It was ten o’clock in the evening and even the last train had been cancelled, I called the Virgil hotel, told them about our situation and they welcomed us with great humanity. The comforts, the breathtaking location in front of the Duomo, the tasty breakfast, the quiet room gave us back a dignity and as two tourists by chance they were able to turn our misadventure into a really pleasant surprise stay. Highly recommended we will be back!!!

We stayed at this hotel for two days. The cleanliness is excellent, every corner is taken care of. The staff is very professional, friendly and also answers every email with precise and helpful instructions. The hotel is located in the historic center of Orvieto, with an unbeatable view and a few steps from the Duomo of Orvieto, one of the most famous cathedrals with a long and rich history. Something very important, if you want to reach the Hotel Virgilio in Orvieto by car, please use Via Soliana, and thus you will avoid getting lost in the narrow and wonderful streets of this city, keep this in mind. Also, when Via Soliana ends in the historic center, just to the left is the public parking. I advise anyone visiting Orvieto to stay at the Hotel Virgilio. Orvieto and its Duomo are a must-see and the Hotel Virgilio gives you the possibility to stay in the middle of history.
