Residence Domus Volumnia

We stayed for two days in this splendid place near Perugia; what can I say: fantastic location, amidst the greenery of Umbria, well-maintained pool, and great for some relaxation, beautiful room, spacious and well-kept. Extremely kind staff and a strategic location for visiting Perugia, Assisi, and also Spoleto (highly recommended)! We will return!

Domus Volumnia is a small quiet corner in a hilly area less than 5 km from Perugia, in an ideal position to take the main roads that allow you to reach in an hour and a half at most by car virtually every corner of Umbria. What you read on the site is already very exhaustive. I can only add the feelings I had during a ten-day stay. Our accommodation (room Velia) was very comfortable, being basically two double bedrooms attic, each with its own TV, joined by a corridor with the bathroom door in the center. We would have liked a small closed wardrobe to hang long garments (trousers, women's clothes), but we managed. The building has the appearance of a late eighteenth-century manor house, and in fact the access to some rooms, with stone staircases and wrought iron railings, is there to remember it. The pool area is well equipped, large enough to accommodate all residents, although, especially on weekends, there is a greater presence being open to the outside. A small kiosk by the pool allows you to have drinks and aperitifs under the umbrella. For breakfast and dinner we have always used the space obtained under a large wooden roof structure located in the garden, so as to enjoy the coolness in the evening but in a sheltered location. Buffet breakfast, sweet and savory: I think there was a great variety of products. Special mention for homemade cakes. For dinner, not very rich card, but with some dishes always available off the menu. For a ten-day stay we ended up replicating the same dishes often, after trying them all in practice: but given the excellent quality of everything we ate, we were more than satisfied with the quiet dinners in a relaxing atmosphere. Adequate wine list and with prices completely in line with the context. I add a note of praise for the background music choices, never intrusive and always apt (for our taste). I end with a warm appreciation for the kindness that has distinguished all the people we have dealt with, always available and ready to make us feel at ease. We stayed for 3 nights at this property , great location to base and see the surrounding cities , great choice , spectacular staff and owners , beautiful location and a fabulous pool . Needless to say, we will be back , the only flaw if you can call it , perhaps the light menu of the pool at noon, a little limited , but really is to look for the hair in the egg .
