Cortina

I chose Hotel Cortina almost by chance. The hotel where I usually stay was fully booked and, having decided at the last minute to spend a few days in the mountains to escape the excessive heat of the city, I started looking for an alternative. Among the various properties, Hotel Cortina immediately caught my attention, especially for the type and beauty of the rooms offered. I had a specific requirement: to be able to have truly separate rooms during the night, with a master area and a second independent solution. I therefore booked the Wellness Suite and the choice could not have been more perfect. Beautiful, completely renovated, modern but perfectly integrated into the Ampezzo style. A door truly separates the sleeping area from the living area, allowing for two independent rooms, and there are even two bathrooms: one en suite and one dedicated to the living area, both completely renovated. In one of the two, a real private wellness area has also been created, a truly pleasant detail. The location is simply unbeatable: the hotel overlooks Corso Italia directly and, honestly, it would be impossible to be more in the heart of Cortina than this. A special thanks, however, goes to the staff and the helpfulness that was shown to us. They even managed to find us a parking space very close to the hotel, which is anything but a given in such a central location. Before arriving, I had also made several requests for the room: a specific type of pillow, a particular bed setup, double towels, and other small attentions related to our needs. To every request, the answer was always simply: “Yes”. And it is precisely this, in my opinion, that makes the difference in hospitality. It is wonderful to stay in a hotel where you don't get the feeling that the property's rules have to be imposed on the guest, but where, within the limits of what is possible, they try instead to accommodate their wishes and needs to make them feel truly at home. It is one of those details that makes you happy to have chosen a hotel, that leads you to recommend it to friends and, above all, that makes you want to return. Thank you because you were first a very pleasant discovery and, once we stayed with you, a great confirmation. We will come to visit you again very soon. Excellent hotel with high-level dining. Splendid terrace on the main street for pleasant evenings. Quality dishes, the Milanese cutlet is an absolute must-try. A well done 👏 to the maitre d' Nicoletta, attentive and professional. Price in line with expectations.

We spent 4 nights at this wonderful hotel! The location couldn't be any better. It is right across from where the long distance buses (ours was from Venice) stop. The hotel is right in the center of the main street. All the shopping, restaurants, etc are right outside. The church and church square are right across. During the summer, they seem to have a free event every evening on the stage in the square. I loved how lively the street was, and all live music would end by 9-10 pm while we were there. The church bells and street noise were never a problem for us. The church bell didn't start ringing before 8 am. After that, we hardly noticed it even if we were in the room. The staff offered to close the shutters in the evening. We did that on our own every night, which cut out all street noise, if any. Our room on the 4th floor faced the church and had a gorgeous view of the mountains! It did get warm at night, so we asked the reception for a fan which made it comfortable. As in most hotels here, air conditioning is not common. The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. There were lots of cabinets and shelves for our stuff. Bed was extremely comfortable. Big bathroom with a nice tub, and all the amenities. I could have stayed longer! Breakfast was great! Their staff is excellent! Front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast staff are very welcoming, courteous, friendly, yet very professional. Ricardo, Leah, and Suhail in the breakfast room were wonderful. I wish I knew the names of the front desk staff as they were equally fantastic. I miss this hotel and the staff's warm hospitality!
