Hotel Imperial

We stayed here for 9 nights in September. The hotel is well positioned with a five minute walk into the town and lake front and similar to the bus station. The ferry port is around a ten minute walk from the hotel. We stayed in a standard room which included a balcony overlooking the pool, a good sized wardrobe and a dressing table with mirror above. There was also tea and coffee making facilities, a safe a fridge and air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower WC, bidet and sink. Hand soap and shower gel dispensers were included. The room was serviced daily to a very good standard. We stayed half board and breakfast consisted of a choice of cereals, fruit, seeds yoghurt, breads, croissants and pastries. The hot food consisted of fried and scrambled eggs and a mixture of mushrooms beans and bacon. There were also cold meats and cheeses plus salad items. Tea and coffee dispensers with a wide range are also available. Dinner was pre ordered at breakfast with a choice of 3 options for each of the 3 courses. The food was of good quality and sufficient portions. There is also a salad bar, bread rolls and hot vegetables available each evening. Drinks are ordered separately on arrival at the table and were very good value. A glass of wine being €2.50 a beer €4.95 and a large bottle of still water €2. The pool area although on the smaller side was well kept and very pleasant. The hotel provides a waiter service to the beds and tables which include free nuts and crisps. Pool towels are free. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

I stayed at The Imperial Hotel at Garda for a week in September The location is good a short walk into the town. The staff are friendly and the hotel is kept well. The food is not great breakfast is adequate not much choice but tasty enough. The evening meal falls very short. You have to choose from three dishes in the morning for your evening meal( I don’t always know what I want for dinner when I’m eating breakfast!!) We only ate twice for dinner and both times the meals were very small and average. I expected more for a meal in Italy. The hotel is really geared up for much older generation very quiet and little atmosphere. The cleaning staff were lovely, super friendly. The pool area was ok but beds very close together and only 4 beds in the sun in the afternoon. Garda itself is stunning we spent most our time out. Meals on the lake front were amazing and very reasonable. Met a couple of lovely people. Overall an ok hotel but not for us

Food left a lot to be desired! Breakfast wasn’t bad but evening meals were not of a good standard. The owner sat on a table in the corner of the dining room overseeing the staff with a face like thunder most of the time. The pool area was very cramped with no space at all between sunbeds. No entertainment at all. Some guests were regular returners (I can’t imagine why)! but they did say that the food had deteriorated. The rooms were clean and comfortable and all areas of the hotel were well kept. The staff were polite and friendly. Compared to our previous stay in Lake Garda this hotel really didn’t meet our expectations.
