Leonardo Hotel Lago di Garda – Wellness and Spa

A mixed bag at this hotel: Pros: The spa facilities are nice and I had a really lovely massage. Plenty of outdoor space although more seating is needed around the adult only pool. A nice pool bar with a good menu. A convenient complimentary shuttle to the town. Unbrellas and bikes to hire. A nice quiet location. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom and a fridge with complimentary water (but only provided for one night). Cons: The hotel is in need of an upgrade - leaks, stained and worn carpets, decking which is a bit of a trip hazard. The pool outside is not heated and was fresh ! The breakfast is not the best - tables not cleaned, cutlery not available, no decaff options on the drinks, food basic. We found some of the staff rude and dismissive - particularly the bar staff in the evening. We had asked the shuttle driver to pick us up at the specified time and he didn’t arrive and there was no answer at the hotel so we had to pay for a taxi back. The telephone number on the website does not work and getting through to them is difficult. Lunch time menu - limited in the restaurant and when we asked if we could eat off the pool bar menu it was a no (the pool bar was shut because of the weather) but then someone on the table next to us had something off the menu which was a bit frustrating - service was inconsistent depending on who was serving you. This hotel has the basis to be really nice but there are issues that definitely need to be addressed for the customer to feel satisfied with their stay.

Located in a very quiet area a few km from Lazise, the hotel is truly a top-level property with a very kind staff, elegant, spacious, bright, and very clean rooms. Top-level restaurant with excellent and well-presented dishes accompanied by impeccable service that elevates the general quality of the property even more: compliments to everyone! It is difficult to find flaws in the property, but perhaps, and only to nitpick, the indoor pool area could use a "refresh." I would recommend this hotel with my eyes closed to anyone who wants a moment of relaxation and tranquility, and I will definitely return again with my whole family!

I returned to this hotel where I had a very good experience in the past, but unfortunately the experience was below expectations, especially considering the category of the property and the price paid. We asked about the possibility of checking in about an hour early and the receptionist's response was a categorical “no,” without trying to check if it was possible to do something or propose an alternative. We perfectly understand the need to respect the schedules, but from a 4-star hotel one would expect a minimum of availability and attention to the customer's needs. Once we entered the room, two staff members entered without knocking and without any prior notice to perform work on the curtain. A behavior that we found unprofessional and, above all, disrespectful of the guests' privacy. Even more disappointing was the general cleanliness. The common areas and the room were not maintained as one would expect from a property of this category: the carpet in the hallways was very dirty and had numerous stains, while in the room there was a large coffee stain on the rug at the foot of the bed. The air conditioner also had mold and stains, giving a general feeling of poor maintenance. The complimentary toiletries were also practically nonexistent, a further detail that, considering the stated level of the property, seemed inadequate to us. Furthermore, to be able to use the property's facilities beyond the check-out time, even after having already vacated the room, a surcharge of €25 is required. There is nothing to object to regarding the fact that there may be additional costs for certain services, but overall it seemed to us to be another element not in line with the experience we expected. Finally, the possibility of changing the provided towels is stated, but on several occasions we were told that the clean ones had run out and therefore were not available. Overall, what emerges is a lack of attention to detail and maintenance, aspects that are particularly important in a property that presents itself as a 4-star hotel. For the price paid and for the category of the property, we believe that these conditions are unacceptable and that there is a clear margin for improvement in customer care, cleanliness, and the general management of the hotel.
