Excelsior Bay

If you’re thinking about booking Hotel Excelsior Bay, don’t hesitate. My mum and I stayed here to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place. The hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean and in an incredible location overlooking Lake Garda, with stunning views that we never tired of waking up to each morning. What really sets Hotel Excelsior Bay apart, though, is the people. Every single member of staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The service was exceptional throughout our stay, but more importantly, it felt genuine. Everyone was kind, friendly and clearly passionate about making guests feel special. The team also went above and beyond to make my birthday unforgettable with some incredibly thoughtful surprises that completely took me by surprise. It’s those moments that turn a lovely holiday into memories you’ll keep for a lifetime. Thank you to everyone at the Hotel for making my milestone birthday so incredibly special. The hotel has an amazing position on Lake Garda with a short walk along the promenade to Malcesine. The views make up for the underwhelming breakfast and lack of perks in the hotel. Having stayed in Malcesine before at a different hotel, I expected snacks with bar orders but none offered here. Our room was clean but small. If location is your preference then you cannot do better but …

We spent 10 amazing days in this lovely hotel. The location cannot be faulted, to sit and have breakfast feet away from the beautiful lake is absolutely fabulous. The breakfast was good and enjoyed a glass of Prosecco every morning. The restaurant staff are so pleasant and helpful and greeted us with such a warm welcome, a special shoutout to Victoria and the lovely Brazilian waitress( sorry cannot remember her name). The hotel is extremely clean in every area. Our room was very small and as mentioned in a previous review, the wardrobe was not long enough for long dresses. We have booked a lake view for next year,which are bigger rooms. The bar staff are also very pleasant and helpful and it’s lovely to sit in the outside bar and sip a drink and just soak up the wonderful lake atmosphere. Also we’d like to thank the lovely Lasissa who I emailed prior to our visit,she was extremely helpful and pleasant,a real credit to the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within a short walking distance, perfect. Looking forward to seeing you all next June.
