Hotel Maderno

It is not up to 4-star standards. Ideal location a stone's throw from the center, on the lakefront with many restaurants, ferry dock 300 meters away. From the outside it looks very good, nice garden and pool, but as soon as you enter everything changes. Room with very little space around the bed, very old air conditioning system, no remote control, impossible to change the temperature, rooms overall obsolete, with neglect and lack of maintenance, a 15 cm long pipe stuck out from the radiator, in a very narrow space where it was almost impossible not to bump into it when passing by. Old and dilapidated furniture, outlet with exposed wires. The two chairs on the small balcony were dilapidated, the stairs covered by carpets were very slippery. Breakfast was a nightmare: very poor service, dishes and food were missing and dozens of people were protesting with the only waitress present who did not understand Italian. Embarrassing for the management of the service, savings on personnel costs, lack of dishes, trays filled sparingly and long waits and drink dispensers always empty. The milk provided was expired. Lack of attention to allergies and intolerances. Furthermore, they made us pay for the unattended parking inside the garden, even though it was written that it was included.

Super clean room, modest in size but with everything necessary, mini balcony but we never stayed there because it overlooked the back and there wasn't much to see. Very large bathroom and certainly recently renovated because everything was new👍 The area dedicated to the pools with sun loungers on the well-kept lawn is also nice. Excellent breakfast, wide selection. Obviously the strong point is the location; as soon as you exit the second gate you immediately notice the lake 🤩 and from there restaurants and bars galore and then my favorite part, the walk along the lake 🦆⛴️⛵️🌊

We had a lovely short break stay during August 2026, and would definitely return. Ideal location, a stones throw to the lake with stunning scenic views. Staff worked so hard and were always available. Rooms/hotel a little dated in areas but added to the rustic charm of the venue, grounds were constantly being tended too. The beds were slightly uncomfortable due to being so hard/solid but that was our personal preference. Pool area provided plenty of entertainment for our children and lots of loungers available. Breakfast was plentiful and a nice quality, with regular replenishment. Thank you for having us to stay.
