Ca' Angeli

Nice accommodation right on the Grand Canal, with pleasant rooms and great breakfast.

Very nice, but problems with cancellation. Review of Ca' Angeli Review pending approval Reviewed The hotel is very nice with a breakfast room beautifully overlooking the Grand Canal, a really great breakfast and clean and comfortable rooms. This is the judgment I give based on my previous stay (and I confirm in full) however despite myself this time I have to give a negative rating because due to a health problem I could not stay in the structure, and my notice of cancellation was never received for some technical problem ; after an email exchange I was explained that they had not received any cancellation email despite having sent a PEC but apparently it was never delivered (perhaps because their box is full?) now, maybe I am not familiar with PEC and therefore I did not understand that the receipt of acceptance does not mean that the hotel received the email, for that you need the CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT, the fact is that the system did not return any error message so I believed that everything was okay, instead at the time of payment I was charged the room rate. My protests have been worthless, showing that I sent the cancellation well before the deadline. The misunderstanding is there, but I felt a bit mocked because I announced the cancellation also by filling in the "form" on the hotel website for the request for info (as well as the email that was sent was addressed to info@caangeli.it) ; now it seems to me more strange than ever that the communication of cancellation through this "form" have not received, instead, coincidentally, once the payment was debited, filling out the same "form" with the request for explanations on why they charged me for the room, they immediately responded. I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding and I want to hope they didn't lie to me but, to avoid unpleasant surprises I recommend ALL TRAVELERS TO BOOK ON THE BOOKING.COM WEBSITE at least you will have the guarantee of being able to cancel your reservation safely.

A small hotel with a breakfast room overlooking the Grand Canal - friendly, quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean. And a perfect location for sightseeing across the whole of Venice - 5-10 minutes from San Silvestro and Rialto water bus stops, and c20 mins walk to San Marco. Great breakfasts, and a lift to get you and your suitcases up to the Reception on the 3rd floor. The hotel is tucked away on a little alley that runs up to a dock on the Grand Canal - just look out for a sign and doorbell in the wall. We struggled to find it at first because Google Maps gets confused by all the dense buildings and ended up asking for directions in a local shop. But definitely worth the hunt and would heartily recommend it.
