La Calcina

We have stayed at this delightful hotel on two previous occasions. Nice staff, pleasant ambience - restaurant is great too. The hotel is away from the main mass of tourists, yet it takes only a few minutes to walk into the centre - and there are also water buses a short distance along the quay. If you are looking for a tranquil base in Venice, this fits the bill.

My stay at Hotel La Calcina, in Venice, was wonderful. It is a small, intimate, very cozy hotel with an especially warm atmosphere that makes you feel at home. It is not a hotel for those looking for great luxuries or modern facilities. Its charm lies precisely in its simplicity and in that authentic and cozy atmosphere. The decor is old, but that is what gives it so much charm and personality. The room was a bit small, but for a single person as was my case, more than enough. The breakfast is very good, and the staff's attention is excellent, always friendly and approachable. Furthermore, the location is fantastic for getting to know Venice. Having a pier right at the door, with the boat that connects to the airport, is very convenient, and from the hotel it is very easy to get around and go sightseeing in the city. Without a doubt, a place with a lot of charm, perfect for those who value authenticity, tranquility, and feeling comfortable in a small hotel with history. Do not expect great luxuries, but do expect a very cozy place, with a privileged location and a true Venetian experience. I would return without hesitation!

During my four-day stay at Hotel La Calcina, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional value for money. The staff went above and beyond with their friendly and helpful service, making my visit smooth and deeply enjoyable. Situated right by the sea in the heart of the city, the hotel offers stunning views and effortless access to all major attractions. I cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
