La Palazzina Veneziana

Wonderful property, kindness and professionalism of the lady who welcomed us. We appreciated everything. We were with our little dog who was treated like a king. Heartfelt thanks. We will return.

If you’re considering booking here are a few items to keep in mind: 1. This hotel advertises air conditioning but it did not work the entire time we were there. It was 28 C in the room at night, and they provided no alternative (despite having other rooms with potentially functioning a/c). My understanding is they have central A/C and try to fan cool air into the other rooms, but in high heat times this does not work and is not accurately advertised. 2. I found the room to be quite dusty and not fully clean from the previous tenant, if you’re sensitive to dust I’d stay away 3. The pictures of this hotel look romantic on booking platforms. In reality, you’re on a very busy canal where you hear garbage boats in the morning and music late at night. When you’d like some privacy on your balcony, know you will be visible by the never ending string of visitors constantly walking by. It’s… very crowded in this area. 4. After doing additional research (we ended up switching hotels mid stay given we could not sleep)… this is highly priced for what it is compared to other alternatives in the area. We found a clean, air conditioned, nicer hotel with breakfast and friendly staff a 15 minute walk away at 50% of the price we paid for this hotel. All that to say… this place is a rip off (it’s also priced very differently depending on where you book it we realized after the fact… to the tune of nearly double…) 5. This place is also a “guest house” meaning there is no dedicated staff to support check in, and barely anyone there during your stay. We found the staff we did interact with quite unhelpful. We spent over 2 weeks traveling Europe and this is the one hotel we really struggled with. Learn our lesson & stay away! There are much much better deals and better places to stay than this one.

The worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The air conditioning does not work and it is 28 Celsius, 82.5 Fahrenheit in our room. There is no lobby attendant to help. We informed them via WhatsApp at 7pm and they did nothing about it. There are several vacant rooms in the hotel and they will not let us move. This is criminal. We notified them via WhatsApp at 7:00 PM, but they did nothing. There are several vacant rooms, yet they will not allow us to change rooms. It is scandalous.
