Residenza Casa San Marco

My wife and I stayed her for 3 nights over the weekend and it was wonderful. We stayed in a room only basis but the facilities were perfect a fantastic base that was very clean with a great shower and a lovely comfortable bed at the end of the day the rest those tired feet. The staff we encountered were polite and courteous, on check out day we left the room at 11 but had a late flight home, we were told we could leave anyone we needed to in a secure room and was given the access code. This was better that dragging luggage all over Venice. I certainly recommend staying here, located 4 min walk tot he Rialto Bridge and 5-6 mins to San Marco it puts you in heart of the city.

We have stayed here a few times over the years. It’s clean, comfortable and is in a great location. There is a coffee shop that local people use about 100 metres away and they are reasonably priced if you just want a coffee in the morning as we do. Some things have changed since our last visit, reception used to be in a nearby hotel and they are now separate which means that bag storage is no longer possible, there is a sign on reception that gives details of a few storage places in the area. The WiFi is very good. Access details were sent to us as promised and worked perfectly well. The safe didn’t work which we reported on day 1 and this wasn’t repaired, not a big deal but we like to use it when travelling as I’m sure many guests do. I would consider bringing your own toiletries as the ones provided are very small and we had to ask for replacements when used, again not a problem just an observation that may help when packing! We would happily return, the staff we met on reception in the morning of which there were three different persons were all friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable and with the shutters closed it’s very quiet and dark in the room.

Small hotel. excellent breakfast. good beds. i was not lucky to find the air conditioner on so it was too hot. the reception does not open 24h Which is a problem. the location is perfect next to Rialto and not far from San Marco
