Residenza San Maurizio

Access - we arrived late and the main door was closed due to renovation - however good instructions were provided by the hotel. Room - we booked a suite for 2 adults and 2 kids. Room was very big with 2 small balconies and nice views of the street and square. Bathroom was excellent but be careful of the tiles that are slippery when wet. The air con is perfect and the windows are high quality meaning little to no street noise which meant we had long sleeps both nights. Location - easy walking distance to main attractions. The area directly around the hotel is really good for drinks and dinner Staff were friendly and helpful with good English. Overall - we were very happy with this hotel

I visited hotel residenza san maurizio in May with my 2 cousins while doing a 6 week tour of Europe, it was the worst place we stayed on our whole trip. We woke up at 4am itching, the walls were filthy and damp and the sheets were covered in dust leaving us with hay fever type symptoms. Also the room you see on the website that you book will NOT be like the room they assign you. It will be vastly inferior, very misleading. Venice is amazing don't spoil your trip by staying here. Location is good for this it gets 1 star

Bad, I booked two nights in this hotel, I paid for both but after one night with asthma attack because of dust and dirt I had to run away and find another accommodation. They moved me out of the room because I couldn't breathe in the one I had booked, but although the second room was bigger and airy I had to stuff myself with cortisone to arrive at 6am and then go out and never go back in. In the hotel I was forced to go to instead I had no problem sign that the problem was not me but the dirt of the walls covered with dated fabric and dust everywhere. (The photo of the slippers that were in the room and that of course we have not even opened say it all!) Too bad because the location is central and therefore very convenient
