Residence Castelli

Lovely apartments, lovely view, website abit unclear as our apartment had no aircon and it was roasting! The owner could have been abit more polite when we arrived when I said where is the aircon he just said there isn’t any! I then said where is the the pool he just said as he walked away “down there!” It’s on a very steep hill and you will need a car, the view and pool are the best bits, apartment very basic and small for a family of four didn’t use the kitchen much because it was tiny and in a corner, we did get a fan to help with the kids sleeping. Too many other nice places to stay around the lake to return but they should take off the aircon filter on booking.com

We loved our stay here. Very reasonable price for a spacious room, and en-suite both with a wonderful lake view and facing the mountains. As it is located about half way up the lake it is easy to explore in both directions if you have a car. Or make use of the buses. Really good bus service which we made use of each evening to visit different restaurants. The room was always serviced while we were at breakfast which was very convenient. One criticism we did have was the coffee machine in the dining room, the black coffee was undrinkable. Luckily we brought our own kettle and coffee. Plenty of car parking with easy access, unlike some of the other hotels. The pool area was a few tiers up, very well placed for another great view of Lake Garda but not so good if you find steps a problem. Good pool bar, with drinks, ice cream and snacks. Really good bus service which we made use of each evening to visit different restaurants. The free Wi-Fi was very good. Friendly staff. I'd say it was romantic but we find everywhere romantic on the banks of lake Garda.

We enjoyed our stay here but you would definitely need car to be able to get around. There's a small beach directly at the front of the hotel which was a big plus, and it's generally quite quiet as it's only really the hotel guests who are using it. The pool area is okay but we didn't spend too much time there as it was mainly full of screaming children. The rooms are adequate, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was basic but clean. You share a balcony with the room next to you so it's a bit awkward if you both want to use it at the same time! The walls are pretty thin and you can hear people talking/watching TV which could be a problem if you had a noisy neighbour. The breakfast in the morning was good. however they would take a long time to replenish anything if it was fully used. I'm sure this was to save money... however it was very annoying when you arrived a bit later for breakfast and there was only a crust of bread left! There's no restaurants nearby so you definitely need a car to be able to travel around to find food. The price of this hotel was very affordable and for the price you pay I think the quality was just fine! We had a wonderful time in Lake Garda.
