The room was nice and clean, but I couldn't sleep because I was worried about the sound of the alarm on the ceiling. There were lights and electrical outlets at hand, which was convenient for looking at my phone.

Very convenient to station especially if arriving on the Shinkansen. Taiko dori exit. Great breakfast: typical Toyoko Inn food but having milk cream rolls, corn pottage and curry soup were tasty and not usually found at other Toyoko's. Staff were friendly. Foreign visitors should understand that this is a Japanese business hotel and not a hotel that caters to tourists. That said, it's a great way to experience mingling with the "locals" and the culture of Japanese business hotels. Membership is a one time 1500 yen charge; must apply in person, and you immediately get points for the stay. Lots of perks if you stay at Toyoko's often like us.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a member of the Toyoko Inn Club. I have always been satisfied with the chain but this one is disappointing. It feels old. The toiletries in the room is just the toothbrush and a razor. There wasn’t even a shower cap. Staff can be friendlier. There is only one lift. Perhaps they need to learn to speak basic English as well unless the chain doesn’t welcome foreigners.
