Our flight to Akita was cancelled due to severe weather. We had to divert to Sendai and then drive 4.5hrs. We could not arrive at exactly 7:00pm so they would not serve us dinner. Nor would they give us any refund. While they state a 7:00 final service, this was an unusual weather circumstance. They showed no mercy. Just interested in keeping their money, an example of how fake their idea of “omotonashi” really is.

Please take this review seriously. As a foreigner you are very very obviously treated like people of a different class here. We had almost all the problems you wouldn't want... Wrong room, missed meal due to discussions at reception.... the private onsen could be booked by Japanese for 70 minutes+ although the hotel actually specifies 40 minutes. And if you say something they just grin and say that's the way it is. The hotel gives no compensation or insight into the misbehavior of Japanese guests. The food is not worth it either. JUST DON'T BOOK. You will thank us 🫣

Though I stayed at the hotel 2 months ago, I think I should write something for this wonderful hotel. First is its tranquil environment and high standard of cleanliness. It makes me feel so peaceful and comfortable. The food impressed me the most. Both the dinner and breakfast were served in a separate private room opposite to our guest room. We were free to chat and drink without worrying to bother others. Both the dinner and breakfast offered great varieties and the taste was out of critics. The onsen is not big but is adequate. Staff are polite. Even they spoke a little bit English, I did not see it a problem as they tried hard to communicate with us and we could also use iPhone for translation. I enjoyed the stay very much.
