Hotel Sunmall

I stayed here for business. It's a long walk from Asahi Station. It's a one-meter taxi ride, but credit cards are not accepted, so it's 1,000 yen for a pick-up. Be careful when using taxis, as they don't accept GOTO or other apps, but I checked online and it took less than five minutes to get there. The front desk staff at check-in were very polite, and I thought the hotel was comparable to foreign hotels. The room is old, but I felt it was well-maintained. I stayed in a smoking room, but there was no problem with the smell. The washlet in the toilet was not powerful, so it would be better to replace it. The table is a good size for computer work, but it would be even better if the chair had a backrest. Although the hotel is old, I felt the hospitality of the staff, so I would use it again. However, it seems that you can't make reservations on various accommodation sites, so you can make reservations by phone, which is a nice touch.

Didn't have much choices in Asahi so we went for the convenience. The hotel itself and the rooms are a bit old at this level of price and in a not well known city - even more expensive that the hotels in Narita. Rooms aren't particularly spacious but we can still call it comfortable. They do not have too many non-smoking rooms so if you need one please book well in advance and emphasize this needs. Good things are that they do have a strong Wi-Fi in room and the hotel location is on the main street of Asahi city where most of the shopping places and restaurants are nested.
