Awesome location, great staff and coY rooms.

We made a reservation for four people (two adults and two children, ages 15 and 12) for our last night in Japan before a long international flight. Upon arrival, we found the room did not match the reservation. It appeared outdated, not properly cleaned, and was clearly set up for only three guests, there were three beds and three sets of slippers. Photos can show this. We raised this with the manager, who acknowledged the situation but initially only apologized without offering a solution. After further discussion, we were offered an additional single room at an extra cost of 10,000 yen. We do not believe it is acceptable to accept and confirm a booking for four guests and then provide a room that cannot accommodate them. Guests should not be required to pay extra to correct an issue that originates from the hotel’s lack of respect for its customers. This was especially disappointing given the expectations of service and attention to detail in Japan. To the hotel management: please do not apologize… by then, we will be far away and never coming back to a Richmond hotel.
