Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta

The hotel theming is beautiful and its location in Disneysea is ideal. However, the room was tired and quite “gloomy” and the bed was dreadful! Not what I expected for the high price and would not recommend. We also waited over an hour to check in. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.

Lovely room, great location, gorgeous lobby. Check in wasn’t great. Probably the most unfriendly Disney reception I’ve ever received, and we go to Disneyland and DisneyWorld every year. I was primed to love this!!! But the gentleman checking us in was unfriendly to the point that it felt like he did not like us. And we were just really happy to be there, so, nothing occurred to explain his behavior. Anyway, from there we went to Oceano for dinner- it’s a buffet, and not good. Our rooms were beautiful ! Loved all of the touches. The beds were ok, but the pillows were neck breakers. We stayed here as part of a 2 night vacation package. We got 2 rooms, so it was very, very expensive. Worth it for the first time because of getting to book rides in advance, but I wouldn’t do it again

It should be 5 out of 5 due to location, but like a lot of people I found the actual hotel experience underwhelming. It feels like a posh capsule hotel designed to feed people to the park rather than a full service 5* hotel. I am writing this in the crowded lobby waiting for my car after a 2 day stay - I would like to be writing this from the coffee shop or hotel bar/lounge - but there are none. The rooms are fine but dated (no USB sockets probably indicates when they were designed) and they show considerable wear (mine did anyway). It’s hard to complain when it’s so…acceptable, but having stayed in 5* hotels on the rest of my 14 day trip, despite it’s price, this does not live up to modern Japanese standards. It’s great to be “in” Disneysea and that probably is 50% of the cost of a room here.
