We stayed here one night during the middle of our two-day Shimanami Kaido ride and it was perfect. The hotel was the fanciest one we stayed in during our two week trip. The lobby is adorned with a huge chandelier and numerous comfortable couches. The room was also classic with plush carpets and high quality kimonos. The highlights are the men’s and women’s onsens which are spotless, luxurious and attended by lovely staff members. They were the nicest onsens we experienced during two weeks in Japan; oases after a long day of cycling. The breakfast is varied but set up to accommodate large bus loads of guests so not our favorite. Staff were welcoming and helpful, without exception.

This was my first stay. It was a room where I could see Kurushima Strait Bridge, Imabari Castle and other islands, the view was very good but there were many places that were not well cleaned. It's also too old to have a ventilation fan in the bath, the toilet is old, and the window frames creak. There's a lot of dirt on the carpet. Aging is noticeable. There were times when the construction noise was loud because there was no announcement of construction. I think the pyjamas are separate and made of cotton, not yukata type. The hotel staff felt good.

Imabari Kokusai Hotel is surprisingly big for Japan, with lots of space and all the things you need for a comfortable stay. The bathroom, especially the toilet, feels really fancy and modern. They also give you traditional Japanese lounge wear, which is a fun and cozy touch , great for relaxing in your room. The hotel restaurant serves amazing Japanese food. Everything I tried was fresh and delicious. Overall, it’s a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re visiting the area.
