In March, I visited Matsuyama Castle for lunch after entering Dogo Onsen during my trip towards Kochi and Matsuyama. Thank you for the excellent response of your employees. The food was great… They brought us food first, as we wanted, as we didn’t drink. It was also a great hotel that I would like to use next time I go to Matsuyama.

Dogo Onsen Funaya is the historic landmark at Dogo Onsen area. I was very excited to stay but it looks that my expectation was too high. Japanese style room was very ordinary Japanese Ryokan room. Nothing special. Door was not autolocked. Meals were not as good as those of other hotels in Dogo Onsen area. Services were also not as good as those of other hotels there. I was a bit disappointed but at least I could stay at the most famous hote in the area.

Thanks for your help. I love Dōgo Onsen and have visited it many times. The main building of Dogo Onsen was lined up with a lot of inbound people, so I gave up in a huge queue (laughs). It is true that when you come to Dogo, you want to go in even if you line up, so it is unavoidable. Because it is wonderful, including the taste. The camellia water was filled. The water was good enough even if it was not really the main building. More importantly, Funaya's public bath, although not rattled, was spacious and relaxing. I took it easy, slowly. The water was good. When I arrived, I thought, "That's great," because he carried me to my room without dragging my suitcase. The cherry blossoms with single-flower cuttings, the sense of the season, the tea preparation, the level of sweets, and the wide variety of towels all felt the hospitality of many long-established stores. The fillet steak, loved by the great writer, was also delicious. In recent years, I have increasingly chosen to stay in an inn with few rooms, and I have been reminded of the splendor of a long-established inn with a good public bath. I love Dōgo Onsen. I'll come again. Thank you very much.
