Terminal Hotel Matsuyama

The hotel is located about a hundred meters from Matsuyama Station. The room was good size, looked recently renovated although the furniture was old and somewhat worn out. The room supplies are provided at the front desk and are available 24 hours. The room key must be used to turn the light by inserting it into a separate keyhole located on the wall panel.

It is a convenient hotel, location wise, few steps away from the main exit of JR station, and opposite this hotel, is the tram where you may board to visit the famous Dogo Onsen. What I like about the hotel is that they also provide rental free bicycle, which I used for a few hours, to visit Matsuyama castle. And the other thing I like about the hotel is, they allowed me to have a slightly earlier checked in time, at 2.30pm though officially it was supposed to be 3pm. Front desk speaks basic English, and the breakfast, that is if you pay additional fees, is quite good (either western or Japanese, and I have chosen Japanese), And if you need to buy some stuffs, you may visit Daiso store which is on the JR station, second floor. Wifi is good, staff is nice, room is clean, except that I was using a smoking room, hence not so comfortable for a non-smoker.

This hotel is a business hotel. It is a “simple” and old hotel, very closed to train station & tram stop. Both are 2-3 mins walking distance. There is no shopping mall or delicious restaurant in this area. We chose this hotel (stayed on 22 Mar 2017) because we took train in the early morning next day. Hotel staff was nice but could speak little English. Room was clean and very big because the hotel gave me a triple room for 2 of us. For the washroom, it was big too~~ We didn’t reserve breakfast when making hotel reservation since the price of breakfast was same no matter from Booking.com or request on arrival. The price is 650 yen per head. However, we ordered breakfast at hotel because there was no better option around the hotel. There were 2 kinds of breakfast : 1 is Japanese style and 1 is Western style. For Japanese style, it was limited supply. For Western, the hotel could be provided when we requested. For us, we ordered Western and the sets were rich & delicious~~
