The OneFive Fukuoka Tenjin

This hotel is centrally located. The rooms are very small, the bathroom very small and everything is very simple. It is not dirty but not really clean neither. there is no service, just towels are replaced but no cleaning, bed preparing. Just nothing. The personnel at the 'reception' is incompetent and not friendly. Prices appear extremely various/dynamic, from 50$ to 5/6 times more (300$ or so). Just avoid this hotel!

Former travel professional here - one that had zero requests beyond a clean private room. We got stuck here as there was no capacity in the city due to a seventeen concert and the beginning of end of year holidays. A few notable things to be aware of: They overcharge if you book from outside Japan - literally 10x the amount - for a basic business hotel with few amenities. They don’t allow late check out under any circumstances. If you want them to hold your suitcases, they tell you to just leave them in the lobby in the open with a sign saying that they’re not responsible for anything (could be challenging as main Fukuoka train station has small lockers but a very popular bag drop that often has a long line). If you want extras of anything - towels, toothbrushes, etc - there are baskets by the front door - you are greeted with them as soon as you walk in - before you see the check in kiosk. Not recommended. If you book from outside Japan, you can stay at one of the better hotels in the neighbourhood for the same price.

Location inside 2 Main Streets. Room rate should be around USD 70. per night only. Strongly advise to book once you are inside of Japan or book via travel agent. The price jump 10 times from when I book. 23rd to 27th Nov, 2023 = GBP 910 for 4 night stay. the only human you will see are Receptionist are mainly from Sri Lanka and 1 Japanese at each given time. They are very hostile and do not greet or smile. always extremely busy with the computer. Try to negotiate with the receptionist but their attitude is apathy. Good: 1) collect as much amenities/ towels as you enter. 2) close to many restaurant and train station.
