In March, when the snow was still melting, I took advantage of an off-season super-reasonable plan to stay at Harataki. The Hara Falls, from which the inn is named, pours meltwater into the Yukawa, and the bath is a good situation where you can see the waterfall right in front of you. Start with an open-air bath that flows straight from its own source, then relax in the private observation bath "Takimi no Yu." I enjoyed the hot springs for the first time in a while. For dinner, several kinds of appetizers, sashimi, Aizu chicken hotpots, and Saikyo-yaki are served. On top of that, there's a half-Viking style of regional stews, soups and local vegetables. For sake, I asked for the "Aizu sake set." There were no dishes that left a lasting impression, but they went well with sake and were delicious.

1. use Loop Bus from Aizu-Wakamatsu Station to Higashiyama Onsen Station. I walked from there and got there in 10 minutes. Meeting with friends on site. The next waterfall and the river next door had a lot of water and it sounded amazing. The rooms are big enough, and the public baths are a little short with about 10 washing areas. There are four private baths and you can use them for 50 minutes. There's a fee. Dinner is half buffet, half meal. Desserts are abundant. I was very satisfied with the price. It's understandable why they're so popular.

By the running stream, ticks all the ideal attributes of an onsen, love the outdoor baths by the stream, excellent kaiseki and good amenities, limited english so be warned but good service throughout even if u struggle to respond. only complaint is room temp is set too warm.
