Miyako

It's located near the national highway, away from Gero Onsen. It advertises a high-class atmosphere, so there are many staff members and the service is good, but the satisfaction is low considering the price. The staff will take you to and from the parking lot. The food is luxurious and you eat it in a partitioned seat. There are many complimentary items. The lobby, which has luxurious amenities, is small and not a luxurious inn. I was able to stay cheaply because I received a discount coupon, but I don't think I'd like to go again. The view is good. There are few customers, so it's a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

It's a place where you can relax and enjoy good hot water and delicious food. I recommend it for couples or friends. On the day, we were able to see the full moon from the bath in our room and it was a very comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were very satisfying. As it was my birthday month, we were given wine. This is a very caring inn.

Miyako at Gero Onsen is a beautiful tiny spot in Gero. If you arrive at the Gero Station, call the hotel in advance and let them know, they will organize the pick up (if time is convenient) or they will suggest to take taxi and then the hotel will pay for the taxi (660 JPY). Dinner is only served at 6pm or 7pm, so do not be late Environment is great, hotel is tiny and hidden amongst trees The open air public baths are very nice and clean, a little small but hey were never crowded. The indoor public bath are also nice but one of them is really quite small. Few “but” in our experience: Dinner service not at the standard of the hotel: dinner was far too long, it took over 2 hours for the full meal. Considering that this is a hot spring and not a fine dining, I would strongly recommend a faster experience. Moreover the staff was not trying to make things quicker. Uncomfortable noise. Our room was the standard Japanese room, but there was a noisy which was hard to imagine due to the overall quietness of the onsen; there was a low tone and low volume noise coming from inside false ceiling probably due to the air conditioning system. It was not a high volume and not unbearable noise, but just that kind of noise that you do not want to hear in such beautiful environment. Our room was located on the first floor just beside the stairs (room 206). Overall the staff was very nice, the public bath clean and comfortable and the hotel environment quite and relaxing
