Gero Onsen Yamagataya

The hotel offers several shuttle bus services between Gero Station and the property. I arrived at 11:30, but the taxi service is only available after 12:00. It’s easy to plan ahead, as all the details are clearly explained on their website. On my departure day, I had a train at 09:27. The first shuttle bus starts at 09:00. If you need transportation earlier than that, the hotel can arrange a taxi, but it must be booked in advance. I spent about 30 minutes shopping at the two souvenir shops in front of Gero JR Station while waiting, which was a nice way to kill time. This is a large hotel with many elevators, which makes moving around very convenient. I booked the cheapest room without meals, but I would strongly recommend booking a room with meals included. When I was in Gero, many restaurants were either closed or stopped serving food around 17:00. In fact, most restaurants in the Gero Onsen area close quite early. There is a LAWSON in the middle of the Gero Onsen area, which is very convenient. There is also a FamilyMart, but it is not in a very central location. My room was Western-style. Although it was small, it had everything I needed: a mini fridge, safe, TV, Wi-Fi, pajamas, electric kettle, small table and chair, and a private toilet. Breakfast is served between 07:00 and 09:00, and pajamas are available near the elevators. The public bath was excellent and is one of the highlights of the stay. It is a large bath with plenty of amenities provided. I bought a yukata for 2,500 yen, but in hindsight, I didn’t really need to, as everything was already available. The large public bath was especially good. I chose the cheapest room, which had small windows. When booking, you can check the room details in advance. It wasn’t bad at all, just something to be aware of. The hotel also has a large gift shop. If you walk from Gero Station, it takes about 15 minutes, but if you are carrying a suitcase, allow around 20 minutes.Easy Transportation

Let's go to Gero Onsen with 3 family members on our wedding anniversary! Then I searched for an inn in Gero Spa Town and decided on this one. First, I entered the museum and was told to wait on the sofa by the receptionist as other guests were checking in, and I waited by looking out the large window at the river in the spa town. However, there was no call at all and no one was already waiting for me at reception, so this is where you get your own reception, right? I went to ask him. I was surprised by that first because the inns I had stayed at were always guided. The inside of the building is very clean and elegant. There were more foreign staff than expected. They showed us around, explained the food, and even had breakfast, all of which were foreign staff. There were some parts of the performance that were a little difficult to hear, but they were very courteous in serving customers. The food I was most looking forward to was a private room! I was excited about room meals or private rooms. It was my first experience of a private room, not a private room in a restaurant, but really a different small room. The food was very delicious and I also asked for a child's lunch for a child aged 18 months, but it was very gorgeous and he was happy to eat it. As for the rice and miso soup that comes out at the end, the rice is a large serving of white rice only, and I couldn't do it even if I wanted a second helping. You might have eaten it if you had an accompaniment, but your husband did his best to crunch white rice only. I made the room the type with a bath because the children are small, and it was really good. It was just a cold snap and it was very cold… The bath with the snowy scenery was great, but I recommend the warmer months. There was something like a bath and a terrace, but as expected the terrace was too cold to use. I would have liked to have had dinner on the terrace if I had the chance. I used the public bath as well, but I was very happy with the free ice cream after the bath. Breakfast was arranged in a large room for each guest. Breakfast was also very good, but for some reason the children's food was not prepared! Adults could bear it, and I would rather have had the kids ready first … but it wasn’t until about 10 minutes after we sat down that the kids came. I was just not old enough to take it yet, so I had no choice but to share the adult side dish, or to try my best with the rice and overcome it. I was satisfied with the totality, but the price was reasonable, and I feel that I would have felt great from start to finish if the guidance from the first welcome was more polite. The staff managing the car wasn't so friendly either. Thank you for your time.
