Guest House Gekka

Great little guesthouse. Its a 15-20 minute walk from the train station/bus station on the quiet side of town. The owners are nice and helpful. Rooms are simple but comfortable and everything is clean. You have to rent a towel for 100 yen. No kitchen. But microwave and refrigerator which is nice, and the wifi is great. There is a komeda coffee place just 5 minute walk which has good coffee and they give you free bread. There is an AMAZING french bakery across the street. Absolutely stop go there.

This guesthouse is a good place to stay, if you want to visit Folk Village, if you are interested in guitars and love paintings with flowers. Good balance of quality and price. Don't miss opportunity to talk about music with host! ))

although the hostel is a bit far from the downtown, but supermarkets are just nearby, comfortable walk to the hostel and give you a better view of the city of Takayama. Host are friendly, free wifi with computer, free jasmine tea, you feel like you are at home as they are not so much people staying there..mircowave is available just for your convinient for purchasing fast food from the supermarket.
