Ikaho Onsen Kokuya

We didn’t really know what to expect for our visit ever to a ryokan. This wasn’t quite what we expected as everything was so old and tired rather than quaint and endearing. Musty smell and old carpets. The bedding was really not adequate and needs updated. The hot springs available were amazing. Food was below average. We were so grateful we would only be staying one night.

We chose this old ryokan because of its location near several local hotsprings. Very friendly staff. But don’t go there to experience sophisticated cuisine or exquisite décor if judged by Japanese ryokan standards.

visit there for my gf‘s birthday. so we had a nice room with private onsen. you can use this anytime you want. so bunch of towls are served in the room. this onsen is based on sulfide hydrochronic acid, is good for your dry skin, dipression, and other skin and organ problems. dinner was shabushabu, sashimi, and others. you can order something and drinks besides the course. breakfast was also japanese traditional. expensive but worth it.
