Hotel Miya Rikyu

I used it for sightseeing in Hiroshima including Miyajima. This is my fourth trip to Miyajima in my life and my second stay. The other day I stayed, I was traveling alone, so I stayed in a cozy place. This time I was with my family, and I left the choice of where to stay, so it was a very luxurious hotel. It is about a three-minute walk from Miyajima Pier toward Itsukushima Shrine, so it is very convenient for sightseeing after leaving your luggage. The building felt a bit old, but the common areas and the rooms were very spacious. The dinner and breakfast, as well as the public bath, were all satisfying. I would love to use it again.

Nice staff but defraichi hotel. On the other hand, an abominable heat in the room, I look for the remote control of the air conditioning 'heating only'??? We ask how to do it and we are told that it is only controllable from the reception (help!). Finally, they put the air conditioning that will eventually condense on the tatami of the room. Tapestry papers are peeling off and there are stains on the walls. If you don't have the sea view but the streets, it's very noisy. The meal is not in room m, nor in small alcoves but in a large room. Gourmet meal (very long) very appreciated by the Japanese, less by us. Breakfast buffet, including European, but what a lack of organization! You have to chase the waitresses to get coffee, pineapple, bread, etc.... and it goes away very quickly without someone watching all this, so we start again in the next round. No private onsen, it is the bathroom of the room that serves. To do again, I will not stay on the island because everything is closed from the last ferry left. The best option is to hike to the observatory, take the first ferry and hike. As soon as you start climbing, a lot less people. Besides, I'm sure that on the 'continent', we can find much better than this ryokan.
