A purpose built hotel for cyclists. Great place to stay right on the harbour dock with great views of the busy harbour. Exceptionally well appointed, funky style cosy rooms with a bathtub. Excellent shopping in the hotel for local products and cyclist needs, and a very good restaurant.

Probably our favourite hotel during our two week trip to Japan. You HAVE to stay here if you are cycling the Shimanami Kaido because it’s really set up to accommodate cyclists; you can chat to other cyclists about their rides; and the Giant rental shop is located right inside the hotel. We stayed at U2 at both the beginning and end of our ride. The first night was in a deluxe double room and the second night was in a standard double room. The deluxe is slightly bigger, and with a huge bathroom featuring a big soaker tub and luxurious towels. Both our rooms were very dark inside but staff were quick to provide floor lamps which solved the problem. We ate in their restaurant for two breakfasts and one dinner and thought they were all great meals.

We really loved this hotel! Our room was very large, with all amenities, and really close to the railway station. The attached Yard Cafe, Kog Bar, Bakery and Restaurant were all excellent. Staff went out of their way to help. Breakfast was a combination of an ordered cooked breakfast and help-yourself cereals and bakery items. More than enough to fuel up for the 75km cycle to Imabari. My only complaint would be not enough overhead light - but there were lamps which made up for this. Overall, a really wonderful venue.
