Heiseikan Kaiyotei

We had dinner and two breakfasts booked and paid for at this hotel. Sadly all meals were less than ordinary, particularly the breakfasts which were revolting. The rooms were fine. We chose tatami rooms. The Onsen is magnificent however do be aware that at check out you are required to pay a hitherto UNDISCLOSED onsen tax. It is fine if everyone in the family uses the onsen. However, one of my daughters refused to use the Onsen - but the charge was still levied. The staff were difficult to deal with. One of the desk clerks had extremely poor English but refused to answer my queries in Japanese - obviously believing it is not possible for a non-Japanese person to speak the language. Hakodate is a wonderful place, well worth visiting and I will definitely be back but I would not stay here again.

It was my first time at here. I really loved a buffet at the dinner time especially in King Crab legs! Also there were several menus for choosing. Unfortunately, I did not tried onsen due to physical problem, but I heard from my friends that was fabulous onsen. Next time, I will not miss it!!! For the room, the room and bed were quite larger than I thought. Also, there is souvenir shop at the first floor of the hotel. Overall, this hotel was so nice and recommended you guys to stay at here!

This hotel with the brand “Sheraton” is nice as well as it is misleading. It is a regular business hotel with the great location for visiting Hakodate. Train station and airport bus stop are just opposite the hotel. The tram station is in the corner. It is few steps from the morning fish markets and all good seafoods. Room is regular Japanese business hotel. Breakfast and the services are great and very friendly. Probably the “Sheraton” brand made it value-for-money is the reason that this hotel could not get 4-star rating from us, unfortunately.
