Ideal location within 10 to 15 minutes walk to train station, wet market and eateries. there is also a tram stop in front of the hotel and Macdonald plus convenience stores are nearby. Room is small but decent size and clean. Service is good and the front office staff are friendly and helpful. A coin operated washer and dryer were most useful. There is also a small area near the vending machines for gathering. We travelled in a group of 9 and found this place most convenient to have our chats and drinks. Breakfast at the hotel is simple and of limited spread.

Hotel Promote Hakodate is a ten minute walk (or one tram stop, if you are so inclined) from Hakodate Station. Adjacent to the hotel is a MacDonald's and a convenience store, and there are many restaurants nearby (I have not had the chance to try them out). Inside, the lobby is small and to the point, and the staff are very kind. There are many complimentary amenities by the front desk. The room (I had a single, non-smoking room) is very clean and has everything you need. The bed is nice and the heater is flawless, important in Hokkaido in February! The internet is a bit slow in my room, but I suspect it will be better with some luck in the placement of your room. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my stay here, especially considering I paid about 40 USD on a Friday. I would consider staying here again in the future.

The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from Hakodate JR station (depending on how heavy your luggage is!), and is efficient and clean. For some reason, the hotel lobby and hallways are quite hot and stuffy, not pleasant if you're outside of your room. It's right next door to a McDonald's, if you were so inclined, but otherwise, there are plenty of good Japanese restaurants nearby. I thought it was very good value.
