Hoshino Resorts Tomamu The Tower

After all, the procession. The bath, the gondola. Best of all, I got a number card for breakfast, waited in line in a dimly lit lobby, retired pathetically and checked out I'm not going back.

This was our second time staying at Hoshino Resorts Tomamu. Having previously stayed at Risonare, we decided to try the "Salmon Room" (family-themed room) at The Tower 2 this time. What should have been a fun family experience quickly turned into a living nightmare. 1. Dangerous Room Design The "Salmon Room" has a severe design flaw that poses a significant safety risk to children. The headboard is designed with sharp, unpadded 90-degree edges. On our first night, as our child was settling into bed in the dark, he misjudged the distance and struck his head against this furniture. The impact caused a deep, severe laceration. 2. Incompetent and Apathetic Staff When we rushed to the front desk for urgent medical assistance, the response was appalling. The staff seemed completely untrained for emergencies—they were unable to provide basic guidance and showed zero empathy toward our distressed family. They were dismissive and refused to assist with hospital arrangements until we insisted on speaking with a manager. It was only then that they finally contacted the medical emergency team. 3. Lack of Follow-up and Accountability During the entire time the medical team was treating our child, not a single hotel staff member came to check on us or offer support. Even after the treatment ended, there was no follow-up or concern shown by the resort. Most shockingly, they took no initiative to secure the hazardous furniture in our room. We had to personally protest at the front desk the following evening to demand safety measures, which they only then implemented as an afterthought. For a resort of this global reputation, the lack of safety standards in room design and the total failure in staff crisis management are unacceptable. This experience has completely shattered our trust in the Hoshino Group. We will not be returning and strongly advise other parents to be extremely cautious. Please ensure you have your own emergency preparations ready, as you cannot rely on the staff here for help.

I stayed with my family on a family trip, and it was a very recommended resort hotel for families with children. You can enjoy a welcome drink in the lounge and feel like a resort as soon as you arrive. The room was also spacious and open, so I could spend a relaxing time with my family. It was a tower hotel, so the view from the upper floors was wonderful and the view from the windows was very impressive. It is a hotel that you will definitely want to visit again.
