Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers

The worst hotel experience I have ever had !! I genuinely felt discriminated against and left with the impression that foreigners (“gaijin”) are not welcome here; which is greatly shocking for a Sheraton hotel under the Marriott Bonvoy brand. If you are an international traveler with tattoos, DO NOT STAY HERE - You are Not Welcomed. As a loyal Marriott Platinum member for many years, I have never been so disappointed. I was denied access to both the gym and the onsen solely because of my tattoos. Hey - Hello, we are in 2026. I fully respect Japanese traditions and local customs. However, this is an international Marriott hotel welcoming guests from around the world. >> Excluding PAYING guests from hotel facilities based solely on tattoos feels totally outdated and inconsistent with the inclusive hospitality standards that Marriott is known for..! I sincerely hope Marriott and the hotel review this policy. Respecting local culture should never come at the cost of making international guests feel unwelcome or discriminated against..!!!

We chose Kobe Sheraton Hotel & Towers as the final stop of our journey, and it turned out to be the perfect decision. After an intense and unforgettable day at Universal Studios Japan, we left the park around 18:45, just as the farewell announcement echoed through the streets. My child walked out reluctantly, still talking about the rides we didn’t get to try, already promising to return someday. 📍 A perfect ending to an unforgettable day at Universal Studios Japan. By the time we arrived at the hotel around 20:00, everything shifted. The lively energy of USJ faded into a calm and quiet atmosphere — exactly what we didn’t realize we needed. At check-in, Mr. Gurung Chandra welcomed us with genuine warmth. He listened patiently as we excitedly shared our day and thoughtfully arranged a corner room on the 14th floor, offering a spacious layout and a wide, relaxing view. He also made sure our early departure the next morning was taken care of, preparing a breakfast box in advance. 📍 From excitement to calm — the room offered exactly the peace we needed. His explanation of the lounge and onsen facilities was clear, friendly, and professional. Knowing the lounge would close at 21:00, we quickly settled into our room and headed up with just enough time to enjoy the space. 📍 A quiet and cozy lounge space to unwind before the night ends. While the facilities may feel slightly dated, they are clearly very well maintained. What truly stands out is not modern luxury, but a sense of comfort, care, and atmosphere. The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the Kobe Rokko Onsen “Hamaizumi.” After a full day of activity, stepping into the onsen felt like a reset — both physically and mentally. 📍 Kobe Rokko Onsen — the highlight that truly melts away the fatigue. Seeing my child quietly change into a yukata, slowing down after such an exciting day, was a small but meaningful moment. 📍 Getting ready to slow down and embrace the night. We slept deeply that night — fully recharged for what came next. The following day, as we continued our journey onward to Okinawa, there was a moment that stayed with me more than I expected. Sitting by the seaside, with a gentle breeze coming through, my child quietly worked on his school assignments — no rush, no distraction, just a calm return to rhythm. 📍 A quiet moment of returning to everyday life — even in the middle of a journey. 📍 The journey continued — a peaceful moment by the sea to reflect and recharge. That moment, in many ways, became the true ending of our trip. Kobe Sheraton may not be the most modern or luxurious hotel, but it offers something more important — it appears at exactly the right time, delivering comfort, warmth, and a perfect sense of closure. Please extend my sincere appreciation to Mr. Gurung Chandra and your team. We truly look forward to returning again in the future.

We stayed overnight at the Sheraton Kobe prior to going on to Osaka. We had a spacious room that had a view of the city along with access to the executive lounge. Everyone we encountered offered superb service and the food was excellent. The hotel is connected to the train station which allows easy access for exploring Kobe.
