I stayed overnight for work. It is a 15-minute stroll from the station, and there are 24-hour convenience stores and gyudon restaurants nearby, making it convenient to leave early before breakfast. The room was on the upper floor, so there was a great view with good weather and a panoramic view of Lake Kasumigaura and Mount Tsukuba.

Stayed here for a marathon. It was older but clean hotel. Bathroom reminds me of the ship bathrooms - tiny and cramped but had everything I needed. Kasumigaura or the town itself was very quiet. I suspect people only visit if there is a purpose (eg a marathon) but even then they were in and out within the day.

Very basic hotel. The rooms where very basic and the bathroom was kind of plastic cubicle inside the room. The room was not that expensive, so value for the money was average. I was there on a business trip so I "experienced" the hotel only in the morning and late in the evening. Service was good as always in Japan. The western breakfast on the first morning was omelet, couple of sausages and 2 pieces of bread with coffee and juice. Next morning it was buffet style, so I guess if there are not enough people, there is no buffet. The breakfast was served on the top floor, so the view was nice. I tried to go to the top floor bar in the evenings, but on the first night there was a wedding and on the next night it was already closed when we arrived to the hotel so I did not see the views in the evening. There was pool and some sort of fitness center in the hotel. I did not try them, only walked through to see how they are.
