R&B Hotel Moriokaekimae

Located close to the station, with 2 semi-hidden entrances (one via a car park, the other an alley off the road - though there are signs indicating where to go). Awkward check-in where the receptionist spoke zero English - though I speak some Japanese and handed over my passport, it didn't seem to register and I was told to wait for 5 mins, when an English speaking receptionist checked me in. Given a small pouch of a sports vitamin drink upon check-in (all guests were, must have been some promotion by the drinks company). Room had no clear windows, just frosted glass. They do open partially though so I could see what the weather was like. Small TV placed level with the bed headboard, so not the best position for viewing. However, there was YouTube streaming, which worked flawlessly. Aircon worked well, with worn controls on the wall in Japanese, but 2 of the buttons were extra-worn, and they were the temperature ones that you always need to set. There was a desk lamp, which meant I could create a cosier atmosphere (often they just have the big main light). No USB sockets. So this was fine, in a super location right in the centre.

Just finished three nights at R & B. It is a budget hotel providing good value with friendly and attentive staff (with basic english language skills), excellent location for quick access to many restaurants, a 7-Eleven (ATM source), the train & bus station, and abundant shops and services at the Fes'an department store attached to station. Simple continental breakfast (rolls, hardboiled eggs, soups, juice, tea, and coffee. They also have a coin laundry on second floor (although the dryer seemed a dash weak for my jeans), vending machines, and smoking room on ground floor. Our room had a large twin bed, or double. Rather cozy by western standards, framed by walls on 3 sides. It would have been great for myself, but for two with luggage, the room was a bit tight. This is not to fault the hotel. It was my choice. But twin beds would have been easier, a larger room wiser, next time. All around great location and value.

It close morioka station, just across the road. This location is very convenience for shopping because there are Fesan department store in Morioka station. If you visit here for 2 person, i recommend book the twin bed due to double bed is too small for both of you.
