I have been to many hotels in Japan, and this one is in my top three for many reasons. The setting is spectacular, and the view from the onsen is breathtaking. The architecture itself is absolutely stunning with this central patio around which the floors are arranged. Dinner and breakfast in buffet form were absolutely delicious and sophisticated (where usually buffet means low quality). We tried the massages - very pleasant after a day of hiking. The room was very comfortable, and the complimentary toiletries were nice. There is also a library and a ping pong table in the hotel. A corner of paradise on this island at the end of the world.

There was an old lady in the cafeteria staff with a bad attitude! If you don't want to do it that much, retire! After all, people are unsuitable, so find a job that suits you! I thought.

I used it for three consecutive holidays, but neither dinner nor the hot springs were as crowded as I expected, and it was great to see the sunset from the terrace that was accessible from the side of the restaurant. The staff's response problem was good. Accommodation costs are not cheap, but I think it is well worth spending on an occasional trip. A local guide also said it was recommended at a hotel in Yakushima.
