The person in charge, Mr. Nakai, explains the food and gives advice about the time of the meal and check-out, considering what you plan to do. I felt like a warm customer with an atmosphere like a relative's aunt. It was a refreshing experience because I rarely go to the kind of inn where Nakai-san is. The food is delicious, and it's well-seasoned and delicious, rather than the salty understatement that is typical of Japanese food. We were able to taste a variety of ingredients and local dishes abundantly. Even though I was full, I couldn't help asking for a refill of white rice. I thought I could use as many cups of Kyushu's characteristic sweet soy sauce on white rice.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on a three-day, two-night trip to Kyushu from Aichi Prefecture. First of all, the food was amazing! All of the dishes were delicious. I think they had put a lot of thought into the seasonal feel and colors. I've stayed at many inns, but I've rarely been so satisfied. They also served us zenzai for dinner, but I was full, and the treat we had the next morning was also delicious. The waitress who attended to us was also very friendly, and I felt that this was indeed a first-class inn. We decided to stay here based on a recommendation from a travel agency, and we were right!

It's been a while since I stayed at a nostalgic inn. There were calligraphy by past guests in the lobby and calligraphy by Master Oyama in the room, so I assumed it was a historic inn. However, the room was just too nostalgic. The toilet had both a Western-style toilet and a Japanese-style toilet together, which was very strange. It's a hot place, and since we'll be taking a hot spring bath, I was annoyed that the air conditioning didn't work very well. The large public bath was small and not too big, so it was just right. The people inside were also generally nice.
