Palace Hotel Hakone

Horrible place to stay. It is next to a homeless camp with people living in makeshift trailers. They (the homeless) literally roam at night around the building that makes it a scary experience. It is advertised as a "luxury" property, but it is just a cheap run down townhouse. Everything inside is dirty and it smells like mold. There is no attendant on duty. The business is run remotely from somewhere else. If you need anything, good luck getting any help. You have to write an email and wait for the next day to get a reply with "We are sorry for your situation but there is nothing we can help you. Please make sure to leave your room before 10 AM". By 9 AM, the cleaning lady is already banging on the door to make sure you are out before 10. Horrible experience. Oh, did I mention there wasn't any hot water through the whole townhouse, no bathroom or kitchen had any hot water.

!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!! The so called villa, is nothing else but a run down, outdated, dirty townhouse, full of old dried bugs and spider webs. It is managed remotely, so if you need to get in touch with a real person, then you are out of luck. The walls are paper thin. I was awaken at 1 AM by the neighbors screaming at each other. The biggest surprise came in the morning when we realized there isn't any hot water available for the shower or the kitchen sink. I immediately messaged the property to which their reply was to go outside and reset the gas meter and hope that will fix my problem. That is ridiculous that the guest has to fix the issues in a rental property. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PROPERTY.

Best place in hakone. Building is futuristic, room is fully equipped, with big LCD TV, tatami n normal bed. Kitchen appliance available n washing machine (jus lack of dryer). Shower with Bath tub (enjoy hot water after long day) n toilet separated. Near to all the major attractions
