We took the Kyushu Odan bus from Aso station to the bus stop at Kurokawa Onsen, The bus journey is about 50 mins and offers a very scenic ride as the driver went up to the top and then down to the valley. Fortunately closer to our date of stay, the hotel finally responded to my email and they picked us up at the bus stop at 3 pm. They also kindly called a taxi to take us from hotel to Yufuin after breakfast the next day. The one hour taxi ride was 14300 Yen. In this way we have about 3 hours to explore Yufuin and catch the Yufuin No Mori train at 12:01 to Huis Ten Bosch.
Room
Our room is 105 on the ground level. There are two sofa chairs which we can enjoy our coffee facing the forest with the little stream. Our twin beds are comfortable. They provide a cold pressed oil for hair and body in the room. There is a coffee machine in the room. Sugar and creamer are provided.
Hot springs
There are two outdoor onsens with the red and green curtains. Entering the building with the red curtains, there are two indoor pools and one outdoor pool facing the forest and small waterfalls. The water temperature is comfortable. Entering the green curtains, there is one indoor pool and one outdoor pool facing the forest and waterfalls.
Meals
Dinner is served at 6 pm and we chose the eel set. I would prefer the eel to not have so much seasoning. Breakfast is at 7.30 am, 8.00 am or 8.30 am. The salmon served at breakfast was quite salty.
There is a gift shop at the lobby and payment is by cash. After dinner we had a lovely walk exploring the grounds of the neighbouring sister hotel where accommodation is more of the chalet style. We can also use the hot spring of the sister hotel.
Service
Staff is friendly and helpful. I am thankful that they replied to my emails closer to my date of stay.

Hotel never responds to email or line. Impossible to contact. Stayed there a few times and it is a very unique and pleasant stay, wonderful open onsen, just under new ownership it has become impossible to contact as they never respond.

I was very satisfied with the sound of birds, cicadas and the summer feeling at the inn in the mountains. My daughter introduced me to her, and I visited for the first time in my family, but it was an undisputed one-night stay, with hot springs full of Yunohana flowers and meals that gave me a taste of the mountains. I also felt the taste of the well-maintained entrance and the warmth of the man who greeted me. I thought it was a great inn.
