Three family members stayed in one room. I heard it was a bit smaller than the room upstairs, but it was more than enough for three adults because it had two bays. The rooms were all cleaned and comfortable. The reason why I decided to stay at Hanamari was the hot spring with a room, but the Azumaya-style bathroom overlooking the murmur of the river, and the spacious stone-cut tub were very nice. The water temperature seems to be a little higher if left alone, but the temperature control is easy, so there is no problem. The open-air bath, which I entered while looking at the garden of the Musuryu-Island main building, was also nice and beautiful, but the room bath was really good and I went in many times. If you want to use the restaurant, kiosk, etc., you can take a shuttle to and from the main building of Musu-ryu-i-kan immediately. Dinner is delicious with lots of items. The Hanamari manager and the staff who served us with Mure Rindo were very kind and it was an inn that made us want to go again.

I stayed for the consecutive holidays in November. When I pulled up in front of the inn, the staff moved my car. After checking in, I tried to remember to go for a walk nearby, but they saw me and prepared shoes for me! Basically, I think the staff service is good. Kurokawa Onsen's riverside inns are all old buildings. This inn is also old, but it's been cleaned inside. Hot springs are not very thick. There are indoor and outdoor baths, but you can enter the indoor or outdoor baths from the dressing room, and you cannot go directly to the outdoor baths. It is a pity that there is no shower in the open-air bath. The meals were all delicious, and I asked for additional horse sashimi, but the amount was large and very delicious! Breakfast was so full, so varied! This time the room charge was 28,600 yen for two meals per night. I don't think it's expensive or cheap.

Read some of the reviews, whilst I agree it's more expensive compared to other ryokans, I find some complaints are due to miscomm. We chose no cleaning of room since we stayed for 2N only. This means 1st night dinner is in room, 2nd night is at restaurant on L2, because our futons are already set up in middle of the room and table pushed to the side. Whilst we were having bfast, they came in to tidy up the futons but they are not kept, so we can go back to sleep anytime we want. I like the whole range of facial cleansers they provide at the sink in room. Smells really nice! Food wise, a bit overwhelming in terms of portions bec there are so many courses..and personally we are not fans of horse sashimi nor raw chicken. Even thought we returned these 2 courses at dinner, we were still super full from the other courses. Young waiter shows translation on his mobile phone to explain each course. Agree they don't have staff who can speak English, we don't speak a word of Jap but can get by with hand gestures. In the day, there is a recep girl from Guangzhou who speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and bit of English. When we walked to onsen town just 10min away, we see a few restaurants which are opened for dinner so you can opt for just bfast, just note the timings of restaurants. Also if you drive, on the way to Nabetaki Falls, you will drive past Oguni rest place, there is a huge supermkt and few cafe/easteries for food options. Things at that supermarket is cheap. There is an air pot in room if you wanna have cup noodles. My room at L2 has a nice view of the Jap garden and Sakura, also enjoyed the ladies only outdoor onsen. Not crowded at all.
