Loved it! The staff is great and very welcoming. For the price you are more than served, it’s very good! The location is not that bad, was worried about it but no, walking distance from attraction so convient

Hostel Mundo is a small and quite old hose in a residential area in Kyoto. It's location is fine, with several bus stops nearby and several kiosks and markets in the vicinity also. It's got very friendly staff and an authentic feeling. We had a double room with tatami mats and sliding doors, which was roomy and nice, and had that old school feeling. The place itself, though, does feel very cramped and all walls are paper thin. We had four nights, and as a couple, maybe that's a little long in such a crowded and cramped house. The atmosphere is nice and we told ourselves that it was a bit like living in Ghibli film..... which helped a little when you had to crawl down a flight of stairs, angle around corners, and go through the common area and the kitchen to take a pee. Pros and cons.
