Along with the renewal, the owner and long-time staff were completely replaced, and the hotel seemed to prioritize staff. The previous manager, front manager and restaurant staff, who cared about the guests, were so much better than us. I think we should change the name of the hotel to something like Yokosuka Hotel so that guests don't mistake it for staying in Hayama.

We drove up to the entrance and parked in a small garage opposite. Elaborate check in with lots of questions and decisions! We changed our dinner on the second night from Teppanyaki to French at their suggestion. Shown to our room, 207, on the second floor. Gorgeous light room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sea and with a large balcony. Two double beds, sofa and table, further L-shaped sofa and tables, desk, fridge with complimentary drinks, wardrobe and shelves. Bathroom with huge bath, separate shower with five different heads, separate Toto. Acqua di Parma toiletries. Pyjamas, robes, indoor and outdoor slippers. WiFi good. Breakfast brought to the room at 8:15: two hot dishes including an omelette, shrimp and coconut soup, tuna and avocado on toast, plus juice, smoothie, croissant, pain au chocolat, yogurt etc.

It is a hotel in Yokosuka, not Hayama, but because the hotel name includes Hayama, it is a strange hotel that makes you think it is in Hayama. I'm glad the previous manager, manager and staff were all friendlier and kinder. Even though it's a small hotel, it's a unique style of service where you can see a number of guest service staff here and there, who don't really know what they're supposed to do, and who just stand there without even greeting each other at check-in and check-out. The room is so large that it feels pointlessly exhausting just to walk around. A new step into the bathroom has been added, making it less barrier-free. The table looks like office furniture and the hard sofas remind you to leave the store, so it doesn't feel like a resort, but rather like a staff-oriented arrangement. The restaurant also felt more like a full-course French meal before.
