Stayed here for 1 nights, family of 5. Hotel is focused on Japanese guest. We had set menu dinner and breakfast that was Japanese style. Food was tasty and amazing presentation. Loved the onsen experience. Note they swap the male and female sides during the day, so you can experience both sides. Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. Would recommend, but we had a Japanese speaker in the group.

As an European these Raikans are rather different and unique. It takes some adjusting to this special Japanese way of staying eg using there clothes, eating 20 servings for dinner, no cola etc etc - However, if you accept it and take it as an experience I guarantee you that you will enjoy this very unique Raikan/hotel… Rooms are originally designed and you sleep on the floor with a hard pillow. You eat in a dedicated private room and get 20 different dishes for dinner - some very Japanese. We had three nights here - and I can only recommend that you try it. The hot spa and baths are really great! Only small thing is the location - however, busses are running directly from outside the hotel all day and often - and takes you to the castle or the station…
