Walking distance from the train station thus the major commercial area, but while the hotel is clean, it’s dated. Yes all the photos of rooms are realistic but things are from the ‘90’s. Staff is attentive and helpful. The view of the train station is cool though. Also heard that there are free bicycles for use but we didn’t try it It’s a good 15 mins walk to the castle. There are paid parking spots right by the hotel. Really the real reasons that we stayed there

About a 3-minute walk from the Alps Exit. A little hard to find. There is a dedicated motorcycle parking lot for 8 cars. As it is the Alps Exit, the surrounding area is not good. I think the closest convenience store is inside Matsumoto Station. For eating and drinking, you have to cross Matsumoto Station and go to the Castle Exit side, or leave your car. There seems to be a restaurant inside the hotel, so you could also use that. It seems to be a facility where banquets, meetings, and weddings can be held, but it is smaller for this type of hotel. It gives the impression of being more like a business hotel. You could see the entire Matsumoto Station premises from the window.

If you travel Japan by train and bus, this hotel could not be better located! The station-exit is located in the same street (50m) from the hotel! Our stay at the hotel was far from bad. It provided everything we needed and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. They even gave us a room with view on the city. The hotel is not very inspiring though. This is what you call: a business hotel. But, when you want to see the stunning Matsumoto castle and you plan to stay one or two nights in Matsumoto: this is your hotel!
