Toyoko Inn Matsumoto Ekimae Hommachi

An absolute nightmare. STAY AWAY from this hotel at all costs. They put us in room 821, completely omitting the fact that major, loud renovation works were being carried out right on the building's façade. The noise was utterly insufferable—constant drilling and hammering, with construction workers literally waltzing right past our window, destroying any sense of privacy or comfort. When we went to complain, the manager initially refused to even face us, cowardly using a "language barrier" as an excuse because she allegedly spoke no English. After pushing back, their brilliant solution was to move us to the exact same room line six floors down (2nd floor), where the construction noise and disruption were just as unbearable. To make matters worse, management showed zero accountability. They shifts the blame by boldly lying, claiming the works were announced on their website. It turns out this "warning" was exclusively posted in Japanese to hide it from international guests. I have attached screenshots proving their English website deliberately conceals this information. Unprofessional, deceptive, and completely disastrous. Avoid this place if you value your peace and money.

The point where I didn't want to stay anymore ① The quality of front desk service is poor 　Since I don't use it much, I will proceed with a card membership of 1500 yen (I already use a smartphone app, so why a physical card?). ② When it rained and I tried to borrow an umbrella, the front desk person was completely brusque, saying, "You have to be standing on an umbrella stand." ③ For breakfast, just line up your desk in the lobby. The number of items is small.

Toyoko Inn Matsumoto Station Honmachi does not provide luggage storage for a couple of hours after check-out. Nevertheless, online a Self-Cloakroom lockable storage facility was mentioned; not specifying on the same page that this policy might be different for specific hotels. Upon checkout, personnel refused to keep my luggage till late afternoon. Luckely, I was able to store my luggage at the nearby train station. Otherwise, I was forced to skip my planned day trip with a local travel agent. (Upon check-in there was a lot of confusion about this. The guy at the reception hardly understood English.) The only good point about this hotel is its convenient location. Bad service, poor communication. Room very basic.
