I can't breathe with my nose because it smells musty. Musty smell keeps my nose running Every time you breathe in your mouth, mold comes into your mouth. Forty-nine, runny nose. Forty-nine, painful. I'm paying. I don't know what this room is, but... Staff, there are a lot of good people, They won't change my room.

The Hotel is great. Old but spotless. Rooms are a good size with small bathroom - but comfortable. The Japanese restaurant is excellent. Ski in Ski out with rental shop on site - all very convenient.. With Tangram area connected by lift, the area is not big but adequate. Immediate ski area is good for beginners and kids and Tangram caters for children very well. Staff are super friendly and service is fantastic.

After a lot of walking each day to and from the slopes to our hotel ( 15-20 min including 10 mins on the Yu road travelletor) in Nozawa, we decided to go ski in/out at Madarao this year. Thehotel , like many of its kind is a bit tired and needs and overall refresh - scuffed walls, paint needed. However, it was clean, service was good, very attentive and friendly Maitre-D at the Piemonte main buffet restaurant. We signedup for half board for most nights and the buffet was OK, abve average on some dishes but was 'same-y" after a few nights. The other option was to use the meal coupons at the Furusato japanese shabu-shabu and teppanyaki restaurant. However, it cost double, so we would have had to fork out far too much for their offerings of pork and wagyu. so we declined. Went out for dinner with friends who were staying elsewhere. You'll need to book most restaurants ahead of time in peak season. Half board usually is more convenient if you are a bit tired from the day of skiing. The ski room has easy accesses, onsen has both an indoor and outdoor/rotenburo pool, plus rentals onsite operated by a private concern. The other cafes within thehotel serve up ok light meals and good coffee, drinks etc. COnsidering some last minute bookings we made, overall the hotel is pretty good value for the conveniences - including having the IIyama -Madarao bus stop right at the main entrance as the final stop before looping back. Early check in for no extra $ was a nice touch and probably can't be guaranteed
