Hirugami Grand Hotel Tenshin

This was a gem on our trip. We had no real expectations, but compared to some other hotels, it was clear the staff tried hard to help with whatever they could and were outwardly friendly. Made us feel like our visit was appreciated. The hot baths were large and luxurious with outdoor pools and tubs. Meals were delicious and hearty. Another thing that makes this hotel stand out, is its incredible view by the river and across the valley.

Beautiful place. Hirugami onsen is a really nice little town and this hotel is located right at the river side. When we arrived the kids played in the river. The hotel is really nice, big and bright. Comfortable room, not so big, and very nice public baths. The one on the first floor is an outside and the top floor is an inside one. The sauna was closed due to coronavirus precautions. The breakfast and dinners were really nice. Service is great. The hotel is in a nice location for visiting the Kiso Valley. Places such as Magome and Tsumago are really great to visit. Kiso valley is a beautiful place. We also went for the star gazing event at the top of a mountain however due to the full moon it wasn't that amazing, still fun though. In the morning there is a market outside the hotel. It peaks at about 7:00 AM. Great area of Nagano. Super beautiful.

The hotel is so great that staff are willing to provide excellent service despite little English can speak. Food are delicious and refined. It is a good place for relexing and away from busy town working.
